    • Picnic Bay is a popular fishing spot for the locals. If the tide is low, you may be able to see coral and small fish as you are walking down the jetty. If you are really lucky you may catch a glimpse of a Manta Ray which regularly visits the jetty.

    On the right hand side is the Picnic Bay Mall which is undergoing development as many of the retailers have moved to the Nelly Bay Harbour Development.

    On the left of the jetty is the swimming enclosure and lifesavers club. The swimming enclosure is erected from October to May to ensure safe swimming all year round. Volunteer lifesavers patrol the area where the enclosure is located on weekends and public holidays.

    At the back of Picnic Bay is the Golf Course and Country Club which has a reputation of being the golf course that Greg Norman played at when he was young.
